New finds at Paphos site inhabited for thousands of years

Archaeologists exploring a multi-period site at Prastio–Mesorotsos in Paphos have uncovered a well-preserved plaster hearth and a well-built plaster floor of an Early- or Middle-Chalcolithic (2500-2300 BC) house, the antiquities department said Friday.

Local residents to stage protest to allow sunbeds on Lara beach

A demonstration in support of allowing sunbeds and umbrellas on the protected turtle beach in Lara will be held on September 1.

The beach comes under the responsibility of Inia whose local council have urged people to gather on the beach next Sunday and bring sunbeds and umbrellas to demonstrate against the ban on beach furniture.

New Bypass Planned for Paphos

Plans to build a Pafos-Geroskipou bypass, from Mac Donald's to the Paphos Municipality Industrial Area have just been announced, with costs totalling approximately € 6.6 million.

Met office forecasts higher temperatures until Sunday

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the area and a relatively warm air mass is expected from tomorrow.

Thursday will be mainly fine while there will be increased local cloud locally in the mountains in the afternoon.

Temperatures will rise to 38 C inland, around 32 C on the west coasts, around 34 C on the remaining coasts and around 28 C in the mountains.
