Cyprus In Pictures - March, 2025
United We Stand

Here's the old site of Super Home Store, which is now to be found up the road at Neon Mall. The roundabout today is adorned with Easter decorations. In March though, it looked like this. I have to say it bears a passing resemblance to a football, which is fitting considering the mighty Pafos FC play next to it.

Poseidonos Avenue Water Feature

The new water feature on Poseidonos Avenue is more or less complete now. All it needs is a little bit of landscaping. The best time to view it is at night. Next month you will see what we mean!
Paphos Harbour

I've been taking shots of Paphos Harbour for quite a while now, and I think I prefer this angle the most, at least for Day shots.
And Now For Something Completely Different

My favourite views though, are of the Paphos Countryside. Whenever possible I include them in the Kalimera shots, though they are never as popular as the Sea Front shots. I think people like pictures of locations they recognise. Understandable, as it will invoke happy memories. But all I can say to any visitor is to leave your comfort zone, and go and explore the other parts of Paphos, away from the tourist maps.

Potima Shocker

It is important to stress that when we post our daily Kalimera and Kalispera shots, we tend to upload them in batches. They aren't usually taken the same morning they are posted. That wouldn't be feasible. Normally this isn't an issue, but in this case, a lot happened at Potima Bay between taking the above picture and the day it was posted. I visited the site on the 8th. On the 10th, the owners announced that the bar was closing, and by the 14th when it appeared as the day's Kalimera shot, the bulldozers had already moved in.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
