Ayia Napa Aquaduct Continued
Last year when we visited Ayia Napa, I did a report on the ancient aquaduct that lies hidden behind a hotel. It is well worth a visit if you are holidaying on the East of the Island. At the time, I wondered where it went to. I had made some 360 film of the roads, and studying them revealed what looked like a continuation of the stonework up near the Sculpture Park. So this year I set off to investigate...
Significant Shrine

This is the road that runs above Ayia Napa towards the Sculpture Park. My 360 film revealed that the aquaduct continued somewhere around here. Don't take my word for it though.
Satellite View

In this satellite image, I have marked the original aquaduct with a triangle. You can follow it across the map from left to right where it eventually arrives at a road. It looks like it continues on the other side too. The shrine is at this point.
View South

This shot will help you get your bearings. It looks down towards Ayia Napa. The sculpture park is to your left and the aquaduct to the left.
Behind The Shrine

So, having determined that there was probably more aquaduct on the other side of the road, I thought I should check it out for myself, and here we are.
More Aquaduct

And here it is! Ok, so it isn't as impressive as the bridge you can find in the centre of Ayia Napa, but it is part of the same structure. So where does it go? Let's follow the bricks and find out.
