The Sauna
This spa was nothing compared to the abandoned one we found in Limassol. If you like urban exploring you really need to check out our article on The Abandoned Health Spa. It had quite a history to it, though little of the building now remains.
To The Main Hotel
Anyway, the spa was a side-issue. I went down this corridor to get to the main part of the hotel.
Familiar Location
I had been in this room before so knew where to go now.
Ground Floor
I now found myself on the ground floor. Fortunately I knew where the stairs up were.
Rise Here!
So I ascended to the first floor, to see what I would find. Oh and I filmed all this too. There will be a walking tour film along this evening.

Aloe Hotel In 2024
The Aloe Hotel closed in 2020. Since then it has remained derelict, home only to pigeons and the occasional rat. At one point reports stated that a tower was going to be built to complement the one next door. Is that still the case? Earlier in the month there was a fire in the old, abandoned Aloe Hotel. Yesterday I went for a walk around the site to see its extent and to ponder on the future of this once-great etablishment.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
