As the trail winds its way up the hill you are soon presented with views of Paphos Forest itself.

To The Watchtower

Naturally enough, the views of the forest make the summit of the hill and ideal place to put a Fire Lookout Station. We will be heading towards this now.

Distant Kannaviou Reservoir

It was a lovely clear day when we took our hike, and we could see for miles. This is the view towards Chrysochous Bay. In the centre of the picture you can see Kannaviou Reservoir. If you look carefully, above it, you can just make out Evretou Reservoir peeping up over the ridge of hills.

Paphos Forest

And here is a better look at Paphos Forest. Doesn't it look lovely? Near the front of it you can just make out a golden strip. That is the old mine we visited a few years ago. Gosh, it was over 5 years since I wrote that. How time flies. You can no longer get to the mine by car. The area is closed to car traffic to encourage the growth of Cedar Trees.

Enjoy The View!

Paphos Forest Mine

Tucked away in the western slopes of Paphos Forest, lies an old mine. You won't ever have seen it unless you went looking for it, and even if you go looking for it you may not find it.
