The Letymbou Tavern
Let's Get Down To Business
We opted to sit inside, as the outside tends to fill up very quickly, and to be honest, we prefer it a bit quieter. So, let's have a look at the menu...
Letymbou Logo
I love the logo they use for the tavern. It reminds me of the "Wimpy" character in Popeye cartoons who was always eating hamburgers.
Selected Highlights
I'm not going to show the entire menu, just a couple of pages, so you can get an idea of the fare on offer and how much you can expect to pay.
I can personally recommend all the kebab combos, the shieftalia, the pork chop (which is huge. If you have never had a pork chop from a Cypriot tavern, you haven't lived. They are gigantic and delicious. Completely different from any pork chop you have ever had before) and of course, the spare ribs.
A quick note on prices: this was written on 20th September 2020. So if you are reading it in 2022 then the prices may well have changed. Incidentally, if you are reading it in 2022, I hope the pandemic has gone by then, and things are back to normal. Wasn't that all a bit of a kerfuffle eh?
Trad Choices
If you are hungry and want a bit of variety, the Mix Grill is a meal and a half. The stifado is very nice, and quite peppery. Other than that, you are on your own. Every time I come here I hate having to decide what to have.
Anyway, we ordered our food and drink, and began the wait.
While We Were Waiting...
In previous visits to the tavern, we usually played cards while waiting for our food to arrive. On this occasion though, our daughter wanted to do some drawing. the current theme is shells, and I watched in awe and envy as she drew the shell on the right of this picture.
She gave me permission to use this picture, provided I pointed out that it wasn't finished yet.
