The Grey Cliffs of Paphos - Part 1
Above The Gorge
I fought my way into this area, but it smelled rather heavily of animal, and I was a bit concerned about snakes. I was intrigued as to where the stream came from. Presumably there must a tunnel up ahead, as the main road into central Paphos is just over there. I wasn't really dressed for that level of bushwhacking though.
Following The Cliff
One thing I had achieved by following the stream back was to ascend a decent way up the cliffs. So rather than return to the little carpark by the stream, I made my way around the cliffs. This gave me the opportunity to check out some more of the rocks close up.
What's In There?
To my untrained eye, this looks like an entrance that has been covered over.
Stream View
Another little puzzle here. This shows the little carpark, the stream and the house. Well, the trees are in front of the house, but you get the idea. Anyway, in front of the trees, there are a ring of seats around a makeshift table. If I was out in the countryside I wouldn't be surprised by this at all. It is the sort of thing that goat herders of farm labourers do all the time. But there aren't any goat herders around here. So who made the seats?
Further Around
I'm running out of cliff to explore now. It continues further, past the Mews, and along Moutallos. But our journey west will end here. The cliffs did have one final surprise though...
