The Grey Cliffs of Paphos - Part 1
Going Left

Ok, so that's the first chunk of exploring done. This house had been built in front of the cliffs, and a path ran between it and the dwellings I had been exploring. Presumably the path winds its way up the cliff somehow.

Behind The House

I spotted a couple of scarecrows behind the house. I don't know how effective they are. I tried all sorts of gadgets to stop the birds from eating grass seed that I sowed in the back garden. I thought it was being effective, as I could see no birds. but when I looked closely I was somewhat dismayed to see grass seeds been carried away by ants.
Secret Stream

When I walked around the house I was surprised to find this stream running past the other side. Even more surprisingly, there was a lot of water in it.
Secret Gorge

The stream was enclosed in reinforced walls, but upstream these soon gave way to a small gorge that was full of bamboo trees and other shrubs. This is the ideal environment for finding snakes, so I was very careful when I was exploring here.
Towards The Source

I was curious to see how deep the gorge went. The stream itself - according to the map - begins just above Paphos Home Market. It runs behind the main Post Office and through the centre of Paphos. I am guessing for most of its journey it is underground. Apparently it ends not far from here, which was surprising to me. Presumably, it goes underground to the sea. But if they don't show underground streams, it would mean that there must be an overground stream behind the post office. The next time I am in the area I shall check it out.
Anyway, getting back to the task in hand, it was clear that my little gorge was fairly impenetrable.
