Postcard From Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa Marina

The marina is definitely a marmite place. We love it, but a lot of you don't, judging by some of the comments left on our Facebook page. Mind you, some of the comments were just plain silly. We labelled the picture "Postcard from Ayia Napa" but still a couple of people felt obliged to point out that it wasn't in Paphos. It's odd though, because we never get similar comments when we cover the Troodos Mountains. I wonder what it is about Ayia Napa Marina tha compels people to make such statements? Who knows...

Exhibition Centre

To the best of our knowledge, that round building in the centre functions as some sort of Exhibition Centre. It is a lovely building and looks much better in real life.
More Boats

The Marina itself seems to be slowly filling up. There were definitely more boats here than there were last year.
Shops And Restaurants

As well as the boats and the tower there are a number of shops, cafes and restaurants here, including a chemist and an Alpha Mega Supermarket. So all budgets are catered for should you be planning a visit.
So Long, Ayia Napa

I wonder what Paphos Marina will look like if it ever gets built. I know already that some people will moan about it, but people probably moaned about the pyramids when they were built. Some people are never happy, and some people just like the Status Quo. But life does have to move on. Provided Cyprus doesn't turn in to Benidorm, and we are a long, long, long way from that, then I think some modern buildings enhance the island, and make it better placed to cope with the future, whatever that may bring!
We will see you next year Ayia Napa!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
