Polis Seaside Stroll
Back Towards Limni Pier

I've walked back down to the beach we arrived at now. I thought I might as well head up towards the pier while we were here, at least as far as our usual swimming point.

Sturdy Tree

I originally assumed that this tree had blown over in a gale or something, and ended up here like an elaborate piece of driftwood. However, it appears to be rooted.
Our Swimming Spot

And here's one of our favourite swimming spots. The beach here is pebbly, as you can see. However, most of the sea itself has a sandy bottom. The key point is it is a nice secluded area yet close to Polis. It isn't all pebbles either. Turtles manage to lay their eggs here. Not on the scale of Lara Bay, but most years, you will see a few of the round metal frames here, placed to protect the nests. You may also see an aging European jogger. He must be very fit, as he runs all the way from beyond Polis to the pier and back. He does this in the middle of summer too, when it is really, really hot. He's a friendly chap, so if you see him, do say hello!
Having said that, I haven't seen him for a while now. Last summer we did most of our swimming at Geroskipou Beach. And before that COVID was in full swing. Hopefully he is still doing his jogging though.
Available For Rent

You can rent the villas here if you want a nice relaxing place to stay that's close to Polis.
Parting Shot

I shall leave you with a final shot of the sea. I enjoyed going out for a wander with no particular aim in mind. Polis Campsite Beach isn't going anywhere, and I will be able to return there at a later date. But I hope you enjoyed this little walk.
