Santa Marina Beach Park

As you enter the village of Ayia Marina you will see a church on your left and a cluster of shops on your right. Beyond the shops you come to what appears to be a wedding venue combined with a beach. Owing to the pandemic, it looked like it was closed. However, we are including it here for future readers benefit. The pandemic won't last forever so let's think positive eh?

Beach Bar?

To the right of this venue we spied what looked like a timber-framed beach bar, though it could just be somebody's outhouse. As mentioned previously, there was a bit of a gale blowing when we took these pictures. In calmer times there is probably more beach to sit on here.

If it ever opens as a wedding venue again - and we assume it will - then I can think of worse places to tie the knot. If you have a look at the tour below you will get a better idea of the facilities etc.

I love the way this tree has been groomed to allow for the cables. It must get a bit hair-raising in a winter storm but it is nice to see the electricity board showing consideration for a change.

Santa Barbara is a beach that is, I think, gunning for Blue Flag status (along with Pomos and the main one in Kato Pyrgos). They all deserve the accolade, too.

Polis Beaches Part 2

In this report we originally planned on showing you the beaches from Kato Pyrgos to Polis. However, there were so many that we have had to split it in two, so join us as we travel from Kato Pyrgos to the outskirts of Pomos. In our next blog we will continue the journey to Polis.

Halloween Mysteries

As it is Halloween today I thought I would tell you about the spooky railway we discovered beneath our feet a while back. However, as we haven't been able to find out anything about it we thought it prudent to throw in some ruins for good measure...

The Pomos Coast

Pomos is quite a trip from Paphos, but it is most definitely worth it. We were up that way to visit some abandoned villages and overflowing reservoirs this week, but stopped to take in the coast along the way. The countryside up there is breathtaking, and well worth a visit. Here's a short selection of what to expect.
