Cyprus In Pictures - April, 2026
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how April has been in our corner of Cyprus.
April Fool
I started the month with a traditional April Fool picture. I took the signs at Agios Georgios Harbour and asked AI to make them five times bigger. I have no idea where it got the text from, as the originals don't mention underwater caves, but it did a pretty good job. AI is being used increasingly in Social Media posts these days, and most of it sucks. But for April Fools I think it is OK, as the whole point is to deceive anyway.
Lemba Art College
When I drive through Lemba it is always nice to pop by the Art College to take a look at their fantastic wall. It's a real shame what has happened here. I do hope the creators of this centre receive justice.
Agios Georgios Chapel
April also saw an Easter Village arrive at Agios Georgios, in the Square by the chapel. It was organised by Cap St Georges. They had a busy month, as they also held an International Chess Competition.
Independence
This is the Monument to Greek Independence, which is on the far corner of the Municipal Gardens by October 28 Square and the Town Hall.
Paphos Castle
This is one of the most popular views in Paphos. The Modern Aphrodite lays on a rock looking towards her birthplace. Looks like she has had a heavy night and is taking her break from her Walk Of Triumph home.
