Take It Easy

Speaking of a slower pace of life, the person who put that hammock there obviously has the right idea. And full marks to them for avoiding the ones made from rope. Those ones are really, really uncomfortable.

Happy Times

The cafe itself is pretty good. They also taught us a good tip for dealing with insects. You put some Cyprus Coffee (Nescafe won't do) in a bowl, and set fire to it. The smoke it gives off as it smoulders away scares the insects away. This doesn't work with leftover filter coffee (and yes, I did try), it has to be unused Cyprus Coffee.

It also smells quite pleasant, to me at least.

After The Storm

I seriously didn't expect it to be back up and running again so quickly.

New Barriers

A recent addition to the seas around Polis is this artificial reef. Presumably, this is to make swimming safer. In time, it may also make snorkelling more interesting.

Blue Flagged Beauty

And there you have it. Polis Beach is most definitely open for business. To get to it, just drive through Polis and follow the signs to the campsite. I would avoid the place on bank holidays though. We visited on one bank holiday, and the campsite which is normally fairly quiet and sedate, was packed to the rafters with an assortment of tents, caravans and camper vans. Virtually every spare centimetre of land was in use. Best to save your visit for a less crowded day, but make sure you do visit, as the beach is lovely.

You can also find Polis Beach in our directory of Paphos Beaches along with the other Blue Flag beaches along the Polis coast. Worth checking out if you fancy exploring a bit.
