I love the Paphos Countryside.

Turn Left

You can see the track I have driven up joins a better track. Initially I was puzzled where a right turn would lead me too. However, I soon remembered seeing it on a map. It doubles back on itself and ends in a vineyard. So I was happy to go left here. In a short while I came to another junction, where the main track appeared to take a sharp left. That is the route you need to take too.

I wasn't expecting to find this here, but it is good to see people making use of Cyprus natural resources.

Follow The Poles

From here on in, to get back to a decent road (the one from Stroumpi to Kathikas) just follow the power lines. Eventually you will come to a fork which goes either side, at that point I took the left-hand option, though both will do. When you hit tarmac, turning right will take you back down to the B7.

Look Around

I shall leave you with this very small virtual tour. I took a couple of 360 pictures on the way up to the panels. If you double click (or tap) the tour should go full-screen. You can also zoom in to the image, so have fun exploring the countryside!

Martiri Gorge

A few days ago we introduced you to Martiri Bridge. That was pretty impressive, but in truth it was merely a starter. To experience the main course, you need to go below the ancient stone structure, and visit the gorge that runs beneath it...

Finding Prodromos Monastery

In the final part of our series on the area around Martiri Bridge, we investigate why it was built, and in doing so learn about a nearby abandoned monastery. We also take the drone for a spin, to get some more spectacular views of the surrounding countryside...

Cyprus Orchids

If you only visit in the heat of summer, you could be forgiven for thinking that a lot of Cyprus is like a desert; brown and arid. However, the truth is somewhat different. During Spring, most of Cyprus is green, as recent blogs will have shown. Not only that, but spring flowers come out to bloom, painting the hills and valleys with a sea of colour. If you are lucky, or you know where to look, you will also come across fields of orchids...
