Paphos Kataklysmos Festivities - 2024
Passing Henry

On my way to the castle I had a quick chat with Henry, who informed me that the Fayre will be in place until Tuesday. So if you want to see it, get down there tonight!

Artisan Art Market

At the far end of the Restaurant Strip at the Harbour, just before the castle itself, you will find this opening into an Aladdin's Cave.
Pumpkin House On Tour

Inside, you will find a number of Artisan Art and Craft Sellers, including the ever-popular Evi from Pumpkin House. She is here for the summer, and you won't find her shop in Old Town open for a while. So if you are looking to buy off her, this is where you should come.
I had hoped to have a chat with her, but she was busy with customers. However, I did film her just over a week ago, and that film will be uploaded in a day or two. So watch out for Part 5 of our Paphos Coast Path Walk. I think that is the one where she appears.
Paphos Castle

Here's a nice view of the castle, showing the stage in front of it. We shall go and have a look at that in a minute. But look how eerie the clouds were making the moon look? Magical...
Castle Reflections

This magnificent lady looks beautiful all year round, but night time illuminations make her especially attractive.

Paphos Kataklysmos Celebrations
Kataklysmos is a big deal in Cyprus. The whole island celebrates with water festivals, traditional events and numerous other activities. Traditionally the biggest celebrations occur in Larnaca, though every town and city does their bit. Paphos is having its own celebrations, and the Sea Front is teaming with stalls selling allsorts. Over the next few days there are also performances to be enjoyed at Paphos Castle. We went down to the Sea Front to join in the fun.Good Pages To Visit

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
