Paphos Coast Path - Part 8 - The Elysium to Venus Beach
Drinks?

I'm not sure what this shed is for. You would think that it sold drinks or something, but the only prices on display are for sunbeds and umbrellas.

Lifeguard Station

Pay attention to the sign saying "Swim Only Within The Breakwaters". Not long after the renovated beach opened, somebody had to be rescued. And no, they weren't swimming within the breakwaters.
Incidentally, the Red and Yellow Flag just means that there is a lifeguard on duty. If the flag is red it means don't swim.
No Sunbed Required

This is the area to go if you don't want to use a sunbed. There is plenty of room for everybody. Now, in August when the local Cypriot population will be on their hols for two weeks, the situation may well change. Who knows? I know lots of them seem to prefer the North coast though, around Polis and Latchi.
Venus Beach Hotel

I'm very glad they have done the beach up though. A few years ago, there was virtually nothing there, and I felt at the time that the hotel's name was a tad misleading. Now though, they have something to be proud of.
Final Beach View

Let's take a final look at the beach before we visit the little chapel...

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
