Paphos Coast Path - Part 8 - The Elysium to Venus Beach
Greenery
Now we come to one of several green areas dotted along the walkway. Again I have to ponder whether the plants growing are intended or whether they are just weeds that have sprouted up naturally. I guess it doesn't really make much difference. They are quite pretty and some of the wild flowers can be very aromatic, in a nice way.
More Greenery
Remember that those metal umbrellas will have plants growing up within them that will provide a natural roof in years to come.
New Shade
This area too will have natural shade. If you look carefully you can see three climbing vines have been planted behind it, and are making their way to the top.
It would make a good Finish Line for races, too!
Venus Beach
We now arrive at Venus Beach. It is very well organised. Almost with military precision! If you look at the drone shots we sometimes publish you will see what I mean. From this angle, it looks like the entire beach is covered in sunbeds. This is not however the case.
No Dogs!
The sunbed prices are clearly displayed, along with an arrow pointing to the area without sunbeds.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
