Oreites Wind Farm
Top of the Forest
When you reach the top of the hills the wind-farm is much more visible.
Surprisingly Green
I was surprised how much green farmland there was up here. I had expected more trees, and some do appear to have been recently planted here.
It isn't all green fields though. This scene (minus the generators) could easily have been taken back on the Army land I grew up on in the UK. Prickly gorse and dense vegetation abound.
Trigpoint!
There's even a trig point up here. Mind you, they are actually a fairly common sight around the countryside of Paphos. The old cartographers were very thorough.
We first visited the wind farm when it was being built, some eight years ago. Before I show you the pictures I took then I want to get close to one of the turbines as it is now.

Abandoned Villages - Kato Archimandrita
A few weeks ago we visited the sleepy hamlet of Archimandrita. We touched briefly then, on its abandoned neighbour, but got distracted with other things before we were able to visit it and tell you what we found. Better late than never, here is our look at Kato Archimandrita, a village abandoned due to its remoteness and ruled now by goats.Good Pages To Visit
