Moundiko Nature Trail - Part 2
Magnificant Akamas
Pictures really can't do the scenery here any justice.
Cave Hunting
I looked all over the hillside but couldn't find the cave. I should have read the sign first. Mind you, I walked through some lovely countryside, so it was no great loss.
The Cave Itself
I actually returned to the area a few days later, to have another go looking for the cave. I eventually found it! It is in a very overgrown area, and I was wearing shorts, so I didn't wade my way through the undergrowth to get inside. I shall return in the Autumn / Winter, when the vegetation has died down and there is less chance of disturbing a snake or a wasps nest.
Snake Canyon
Far below me, the river cut through Snake Canyon. Navigating that is a lot harder than walking the Avakas Gorge Trail.
Goat Farm
Once I had finished exploring I returned to the main track. My route took me past a goat farm.
