There's nothing more to say about the dam really, but I took some nice pictures with the drone so thought I would share them here.
There is a strange tunnel on the downstream side of the dam.
It looks like they have been sending a bulldozer in to it. Presumably that is why there is water on the other side. I wonder if that is where the work needs to be done?
Historically...
The Mavrokolympos is the oldest dam in Paphos. Before it was built, the valley was no stranger to water features. There are a number of old water mill ruins on the sides of the surrounding valleys. And far upstream at Martiri Gorge there were many more.

So there you have it. Hopefully, whatever work that is required here will be completed before the winter rains arrive. The farmers are desperate for water and normally rely on this reservour to sustain them.
