The Green Door

One of my favourite HG Wells short stories involves a mysterious green door which appears at key points in a man's life. The first time he went through it he had an amazing time, but in future appearances he was unable to go through, because he had an important engagement to keep. He begins craving for the door to return and is eventually found dead at the bottom of a railway embankment, far below an old green door he must have entered by mistake. The story appears in his "Country Of The Blind" book, and if you like short stories or steampunk, it is well worth checking out, though I have murdered it somewhat in my summary.

Anyway, this green door was locked, so I was unable to share his experience.

Central Garage?

The buildings shared a common roof with this open area in the middle. Did it used to be a garage?

Rear-Side View

This angle gives you the clearest view of the buildings themselves.

Rear Dish

You can also see how big the dish is in comparison here. I have no idea what it was used for. It is pointing west though, towards Crete.

Next to the big dish there is a much smaller one. This sort of dish used to be a regular feature in the back gardens of British immigrants, until Sky changed their system and they became useless. Perhaps if Sky hadn't done so IPTV wouldn't have become so popular? A case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
