Ivis Maliotou Park Update
Beneath The Lookout

It occurs to me that it would be helpful to show you what the park used to look like. At the foot of the blog, you will see a link to Part 7 of our 2021 Old Paphos Tour. We walk through the park then.

Modernisation

It is certainly being brought up-to-date. For obvious reasons they haven't planted the new flora yet, so it looks a bit bare at the moment.
Chapel View

It will be interesting to what improvements they will have made to the chapel itself. I do hope that these walls will eventually be adorned with foliage though. If they are left like that they will be a magnet for vandals wanting to spray their tags everywhere. Who knows, perhaps they will get some proper murals commissioned? That would be pretty amazing, and also deter the taggers.
Road Closed

You cannot drive up the road to Kennedy Square at the moment, but you can walk up it easily enough.
More Improvements

The alleys and roads on the other side of the main throughfare have not escaped the renovators' attention.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
