Greek Mythology At Paphos Mall
Moving On

So let's go and take a look at the other exhibits...

The Horses of Diomedes

The Horses of Diomedes were mythical animals known for their savagery and insatiable hunger.
They belonged to King Diomedes of Trace and fed on human flesh, making them symbols of uncontrollable violence and terror.
According to myth, Heracles was tasked with taming them as one of his Twelve Labours. Their story highlights the conflict between human strength and the wild, untamed forces of nature.

They certainly look angry.
The Nemean Lion

Now we get to some actual animatronics, that move. The eyes of the lion also come on occasionally.
The Nemean Lion was a vicious monster that ravaged the area of Nemea. It was believed to be the offspring of Zeus and Selene. It was believed to be the offspring of Zeus and Selene. Its golden fur was impenetrable by the weapons of humans, impervious to attack hence it could not be killed with mortals' weapons. It had claws sharper than mortals' swords and could cut through any armour. Heracles eventually killed the lion by strangling it with his bare hands.
The Stymphalian Birds

The Stymphalian Birds were a group of monstrous, man-eating birds with beaks of bronze, sharp metallic feathers they could launch at their victims, and poisonous dung. These birds flew against those who came to hunt them, wounding and killing them with their beaks. Killing the Stymphalian birds was the sixth task that was appointed to the demigod hero Heracles.
