Gialia Beach
The Rear of the Beach

There they are, along with a few more parasols which have been laid on their side. You can also see the lifeguard station. Believe it or not, it was actually manned. I wonder if you were to grab a sunbed and put it under a parasol he would come down and charge you €5? Or perhaps a mysterious old man would appear out of nowhere on a scooter? I don't know, but we weren't intending to do any sunbathing so we never found out.

Shower Facility?

One thing we couldn't find was a shower. This was the closest thing to it, but I suspect that that use to have some other purpose.
Turtle Nesting Area

As the sign promised, the beach had a turtle nesting area. And here it is. The cages are put there - officially at least - to deter foxes. Unofficially, they also ensure unwary sun worshippers don't plonk a parasol there by mistake.
Solitude

As you can see from this shot, the beach forms just a tiny part of the coastline. There has been a bit of a kerfuffle in the press this year, about taverns encroaching onto the coastal areas. I can understand the criticism, but can also see the point of view of the business owners and municipalities who want to exploit the areas more and make them a tiny bit more open to tourists. Surely the way forward is to find a solution that accommodates everybody. After all, there is an awful lot of empty coastline here.
The Tour
While we were visiting we rustled up a quick virtual tour. In our beach directory you can find pretty much all the beaches in Paphos, and nearly all of the listings include an image gallery and a virtual tour, plus a map showing where they are. So if you want to find out about Paphos Beaches, be sure to take a look.

Polis Beaches Part 3
In the final part of our look at the beaches along the north coast of Paphos, we travel from Pomos to Polis, finishing up with a slap-up meal at our favourite kebab joint. If you want quieter beaches in beautiful surroundings, then this area will not disappoint. We visited these beaches more times than was strictly necessary to make this blog, which shows that we have saved what we consider to be some of the best Paphos beaches to last.
The Pomos Coast
Pomos is quite a trip from Paphos, but it is most definitely worth it. We were up that way to visit some abandoned villages and overflowing reservoirs this week, but stopped to take in the coast along the way. The countryside up there is breathtaking, and well worth a visit. Here's a short selection of what to expect.Good Pages To Visit
