From Polis to Limni Pier
The Pier
The pier was built to allow minerals to be transported from the old Limni Mine.
Swimmers and Anglers Only
Now though, it is only used by anglers. There will be swimmers later on in the year, but at the moment everybody is wearing jumpers. The huddle of fishermen you can see in this shot were looking at a fish one of them had just caught. I saw them reel it in. It must have been about 4 inches long. Having swam in the area fairly regularly, I have to say that was actually pretty big. Normally when you go swimming here you will be surrounded by schools of minnows.
Lots of Cars
Bizarrely, I think this was the busiest we have ever seen the pier. There were a lot of cars parked in the carpark. The building you can see here, by the way, is a remnant of the old mine. You won't find a loo or a kiosk here.
Note The Rules
Also interesting to note is the title: "Cyprus Limni Resorts and Golfcourses PLC". This is a foretaste of the future. This area may look rather different in the middle to long-term.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
