From Miliou to Theletra
Olives

We also found plenty of olive trees; another Cyprus Staple. All the orange trees seemed to be at the base of the valley though.

Mystery Machine

We found this strange machine in a field. Is it a water pump?
Another View

Now things get interesting. Up to this point, the vines all look fairly standard. You will see thousands of similar shrubs in the fields around Polemi. But look what we found in the next fields...
Novel Compost

In some fields, the vines are being fertilized with lots of vegetables and mulch.
Many Tomatoes

I didn't understand this though. I would have thought there would be more money in tomatoes than grapes. So I was amazed to see so many of them just used as compost. Perhaps the wet winter last year has resulted in a glut? Even so, I would have thought the extra toms could have been used for juice. Does nobody in Cyprus drink a Bloody Mary?
