Tim Bennett - Wish Harder
Tim Bennett's wish tree is a contemporary totem. "Wish Harder" is made of modern construction materials as will be used in the future "Eco City" and idealises the beauty of the trees surrounding us. the sculpture has an archaic dignity and holds its own secret.
Rinos Stefani - St George and the Dragon
This is the final piece.
Rinos Stefani's "Saint George and the Dragon" seems to symbolise our Anthropocene epoch dating from the commencement of significant human impact on Earth's geology and ecosystems, including anthropogenic climate change. His tree is a slaughtered victim of our way to exploit nature.
But Don't Stop There...
Once you reach the dragon, keep walking. There is a lovely, short walk which takes you to the end of the cliffs. You can come back in a loop if you then follow the road round to your right. Along the way, there is a mysterious abandoned building you can explore, and lots of views. We will publish the virtual tour tomorrow, and you can see for yourselves the route. It is a great walk and its only about a mile and a bit long, so won't take too much time, unless you stop to enjoy the view.
More Caves
The final still from the 360 tour shows another cave and a mysterious statue to Aphrodite at the top of the hill.
That Tree Again
On the return journey, we walked past the front of the Wishing Tree, so you can get a closer look.
This area is well worth a visit. Do bear in mind though, that there is a church here, and it does get visited regularly by people coming to pray. So please be respectful, and say hello to the cats!

We visited the Ayios Georgios Shrine Caves quite a while ago, but returned recently to make a virtual tour. We were pleasently surprised when we did so to find that the area now hosted an outdoor Eco Art Exhibition. This place is really worth checking out, and makes a lovely walk.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
