Don't get me wrong, it looks lovely during the day too. But at night it is rather special.

Personally I can't wait for the place to open. It will be fascinating to peruse documents pertaining to the history of this wonderful city. Obviously, language will be a bit of an issue to me, but who knows, it might help improve my Greek as well? I will certainly have an incentive.

Perfect Blend

And look how nicely the centre blends in with the nearby October 28 Square. They have even continued those enigmatic lines in the ground. If you have ever wondered about them, this is what Google had to say on the subject:

The lines and geometric patterns engraved into the ground at October 28 Square (Town Hall Square) in Paphos represent an architectural design motif that springs outward from the central October 28th Column, visually unifying the square and connecting the urban landscape to the monument. These ground engravings were part of a broader municipal redesign and unification project (covering October 28 Square, Costis Palamas Square, and Dionysios Solomos Square) intended to organize the public space, guide foot traffic, and structurally link the surface design to underground historical features like nearby excavated ancient rock-cut tombs. The central column itself honors Greek and Greek Cypriot World War II resistance.

The Future Is Bright

All in all, I think they have done a tremendous job here. The Centre will enhance the appeal of Paphos and enjoyed by lots of people. I am not finished yet though. On the next page you will see a few more aerial shots. So keep reading!
