The monument is a peaceful place, though it is impossible to appreciate the enormity of the tragedy it remembers.

Hidden Path

I walked past the monuement then turned round. I path runs behind it towards the Documentation Centre so I followed it.

New Trees

Whenever anything new gets built in Cyprus, some people always moan about the use of concrete and the destruction of trees. This site has suffered the same criticism and I will say now that it is completely unjustified. A lot of trees have been planted in these gardens since work began last year. I have no idea how many but it must be hundreds.

Walkway

Sure, there is concrete too, but it looks highly presentable.

Shrubs

There are lots of new shrubs too, including the old favourite Oleander.
