Cyprus in Pictures - March 2024
We post a daily "Kalimera" picture to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how March has been in our corner of Cyprus.
St Nicholas Chapel Area

We begin our month at the little beach near St Nicholas Chapel. The hotel behind it is the Pioneer Beach.
Paphos Harbour

You can see in this harbour shot that the work on the new restaurant is progressing nicely.
The Blue Lagoon Off Season!

I also had an interesting drive to the famous Blue Lagoon in the Akamas. March is obviously too early for the boat tours, so the coastline was completely empty. If you visit the lagoon during the summer months, do not expect it to look like this unless you get there very early in the day!
St George's Chapel

Green Monday is a big event in Cyprus, and this month I drove around the district to see how it was celebrated. Outside of Geroskipou Beach, which was completely chockablock with cars, the beach near this chapel was the busiest.
White River Beach

If you want a quieter seaside experience, head for White River Beach, on the edge of the Akamas. You can also do a spot of meditation.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
