Cyprus In Pictures - June 2023
Seafront Moods

While we are currently enduring wall-to-wall sunshine the weather was a bit unpredictable earlier on in June. This moody shot of the seafront sums it up nicely.

Fig Tree Bay

We also had our annual Beano to the East of the Island, and larged it up in Protaras. Actually we had a nice relaxing time with lots of snorkelling. We don't tend to use the most popular beaches ourselves, as they aren't ideal for underwater experiences. However, it cannot be denied that Fig Tree Bay is a lovely beach.
Anything You Can Do...

I read in a number of places recently that Paphos doesn't have any sandy beaches. Anybody who tells you that is talking complete guff. Corallia Beach for one is a match to anything you can find on the East. Don't get me wrong, I love our trips to Protaras and Ayia Napa, and if I was a tourist only interested in sandy beaches I would probably head there. But Paphos has a much greater variety of attractions, and countryside that is stonkingly beautiful, and it does have some nice sandy beaches.
Ultimately, you will have a great time at either location, so just enjoy yourself whatever you decide to do.
Coral Bay Beach

To prove my point, this is Coral Bay Beach, and lies just East of Corallia Beach. In actual fact it is only about half of it.
Paphos Sea Front

The much-maligned tower received a bit of a facelift in June. It is now clad in white, and I have to say it makes it look a lot less imposing.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
