Chrysochou Gorge
From The Top

By the time we got back to the road, the Cyprus Traffic Jam had gone, so we drove up our original route, stopping at the top to make some observations.
Here you can see where we drove, through the distant fields. You can also see rows of olive trees.

Old Ruins

If you are wondering where we took the shot from, it is by these old ruins. For more information, check out the blog on St George Nicoxylitis. There is a link below.
New Church

If you remember that other blog, we mentioned a church that was being built. Well, since March, the work has continued, as you can see.
Under Construction

Not the most amazing picture to leave you with, but in years to come it will be nice to have a picture of the church as it was being built.
The Map

This map shows where we are. The thick road on the left is the main road from Kathikas to Polis. The thick road on the right is the B7. We have marked the route to the green point from the B7, and the scenic route we took and filmed from there to Gravity Road. Finally, we have highlighted the route through the fields to the gorge itself. In terms of exploring it further, you can see it has two potential routes below it, though the left hand one looks more interesting. We shall have to return for another look soon, before it gets too muddy. I wouldn't fancy driving through those fields once the rains have hit.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
