The Ayia Marina Coast From Above
Yesterday we fancied some fresh air, so we drove down to the Polis coast to have a bit of a stroll along a beach. Naturally enough I brought my drone with me. It may be January, but Cyprus is in a bit of a heat wave at the moment.
Happy New Year!
As you can see in the pictures, the weather has been lovely recently. We covered this area of coast in Part 3 of our series on the Polis Coastline, last summer. The only noticable difference to January is the level of green in the surrounding countryside. If you have only visited Cyprus in the summer time you will be amazed at how green the countryside gets during the winter months.
Into The Light
When we visited last summer, we had the area to ourselves. However, yesterday there were numerous other people dotted around the beach.
Interesting Rocks
The beach is in our Beaches directory. It is a good place to visit if you like exploring rocks, as there are some very interesting formations next to it.
Different Angle
Indeed, we first visited the area because somebody told us about the interesting crystals you can find in the rocks.
Popular Fishing Spot
The area is also popular with fishermen. You can see one in the bottom right corner of this picture.

Polis Beaches Part 1
We've already had a look at how the beaches and restaurants of Paphos and Ayia Napa are coping with the new norms of social distancing. It is time to turn our attention to the Polis coast, and take a look at what the situation is there. In Part 1 we go from Aphrodite's Baths to Polis.Polis Beaches Part 2
In this report we originally planned on showing you the beaches from Kato Pyrgos to Polis. However, there were so many that we have had to split it in two, so join us as we travel from Kato Pyrgos to the outskirts of Pomos. In our next blog we will continue the journey to Polis.Polis Beaches Part 3
In the final part of our look at the beaches along the north coast of Paphos, we travel from Pomos to Polis, finishing up with a slap-up meal at our favourite kebab joint. If you want quieter beaches in beautiful surroundings, then this area will not disappoint. We visited these beaches more times than was strictly necessary to make this blog, which shows that we have saved what we consider to be some of the best Paphos beaches to last.Good Pages To Visit
