Around Agios Georgios
Agios Georgios could rightly claim to be one of the Gateways to the Akamas. You will find it on the western end of the Coast Road from Paphos City. It has a lovely little harbour and an ancient archaeological site, as well as a photogenic church perched on top of a rocky cliff. They are in the process of redeveloping the restaurant next to the church, so we went down to see how they were getting on...
Car Park View
We will begin our adventure in the Car Park above the cliffs. The nearby restaurant is now a building site.
Security
Upon our arrival, we were frisked by the local Security Guard.
Up, Up And Away!
Having a drone makes it easy to get a progress report on the Restaurant Refurbishment.
Akamas View
Don't worry though! This isn't another blog filled with pictures of building sites. There will be some, but we will also take a look around the coastline and Cap St George. Here you can see White River Beach in the distance.
They are doing some serious work at the restaurant though. I haven't heard anything from official channels, so I can't give you any further information. I can only show you what is happening behind the hoardings.

Kafizis Beach
A few years ago we photographed Kafizis Beach, at Cap St George, for our Beaches Directory. Well, time and developers march on, and the area has changed quite a bit since then. So we went down to take another look...Cap St Georges
Cap St Georges is a new commercial venture out near the Akamas. It was recently discussed on the Paphos Life forum, as people were concerned about the level of access to the beach area that non-residents would get. So we took our camera down to have a look. This is not a review of Cap St Georges, we didn't try any of the food or drink. This is more of a quick nose so you can see what the area is like.Good Pages To Visit
