Aphrodite's Trail
Chapel Junction

Once you have turned left the trail rises a bit before following the course of the main road below. You soon arrive at another junction. If you want to visit the little chapel, you should turn left here. It is at the end of a cul-de-sac so you will be back later and won't get lost. So be adventurous!

Better Trail

We last took this particular route back in 2016. Back then it was a lot more rugged. The path has definitely been improved since then.
View Of The Road

From up here you get a good view of the Blue Lagoon Road. That too has been improved. I can understand the reason why, but I think it might also be the cause of some of the accidents they have had on it. When the road was really bad, you literally had no option other than drive at about 2 miles an hour navigating each bump as you got to it. Consequently, you would never get the speed up to drive over the edge unless you fell asleep at the wheel. But if you make the road easier to navigate, people will naturally drive more quickly on it, especially if they are seeking adventure.
More Renovations

The reason for the path improvement soon became apparent. They are repairing the ancient chapel! I have added another link to the original article so you can see it without going back a page.
Pilgrim's Progress

I wonder who is doing the maintenance work? Is it the state, or are some private individuals or organisations repairing it off their own back?

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
