Agios Georgios, Universal
Mystery Icons

Surrounding the church are a number of pillars. Each has an icon depicting a saint or some other holy figure. Presumably the Faithful walk around these pillars and pray to each in turn.

Main Entrance

This is the main entrance to the church. There is also a side door to the left which leads to the road. The door to the right was locked. You can see here more of those pillars I mentioned. Also note how tidy everywhere is.
Tie A Ribbon...

One of the trees had lots of ribbons tied around it. I have seen quite a few examples of this in the East of Cyprus, but not so many here. I originally assumed that when this tree was "full" they would start on one of the other trees. However, one of the pictures on Google from 2016 showed the trees and this one looked pretty much the same then. So for whatever reason the ribbons are attached to only this trunk.
Church Interior

I've entered the church now, from the rear.
Many Icons

There are some beautiful pictures here.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
