After The Fires
No Turbines Damaged
Amazingly, none of the turbines were damaged. The surrounding forest was pretty scorched though.
The Night Before
At this point you may well be asking "how do you know it was arson?". This will become clear as the blog progresses. Make no mistake though, this was 100% arson.
Archimandrita View
In the foreground you can see a scorched telegraph pole. It could have been a powerline, but I call all such poles telegraph poles. However, in the interests of accuracy, I checked out the Telegraph Pole Appreciation Society's FAQ. They seem to refer to powerlines as electricity poles, so I can't just say telegraph pole willy nilly. if anybody knows for sure what it is I will change the text, kittens permitting.
Oh and that's Archimandrita in the background. You can see from here that the countryside between the wind farm and Archimandrita was ok.
Three Cheers To The Fire Brigade!
We were driving down a side-track when we stumbled upon this fire engine. I reversed the car, as I had no wish for them to move on our account. I went over and said hello at the same time, as I didn't want them to think I was here with any malicious intent. On behalf of all the residents of Archimandrita, Pentalia, Mousere and Dora I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the firemen and forestry workers who risk their lives keeping the rest of us safe.
