Old Axylou
Timely Warning
Always be on the lookout for snakes when you are exploring the countryside. We found two sets of snake skins while we were out exploring today.
View From The Quarry
We then decided to go exploring near the abandoned village of Pitargou. We wanted to approach from the Letymbou end, and go up the Ezousa Valley towards Episkopi
Distant Pitargou
Unfortunately, the Electricity Board were doing some work on the road to Pitargou, so we reversed and took a cross-country route instead. Soon we were high above the village, looking down on it. You can just make out the mosque in the distance, but the remaining ruins look pretty ramshackle. A modern farm has sprouted up here, and by all accounts the farmer is a bit, how shall we say, tempramental. If you want my advice, just drive past. Don't attempt to go exploring.
Distant Episkopi
We started our journey today over by that big rock in the distance. It is the towering formation that dominates Episkopi. We've driven down the Ezousa Valley many times, but never seen it from this angle before.
From Episkopi to Axylou
We actually made a film of the journey from Episkopi to Modern Axylou. We already published it on Facebook, but here it is again in case you missed it.
