Postcard From Ayia Napa
Nice Murals
Inside the church, there are lots of lovely murals. This was one of them.
Nice Views
As you would expect, there are some lovely views from the top of the hill. You can see here that even the railings get the ribbon treatment.
The Church Itself
The church was very well maintained, and looked as fine on the outside as in.
Ultimate Ribbon Holder
I would guess this was heart-shaped at some point. It is completely covered in ribbons now though, and messages to departed loved ones. Most seemed to be written in English, though I saw a whole range of languages in total.
We Loved Ayia Napa!
What better way to end the blog than a shot of this famous statue? We were pleasantly surprised with Ayia Napa. The beaches are lovely, and the place wasn't awash with drunken tourists either. Now admitedly, we didn't go to the main drag at night, and have no idea how it gets when the clubs are going full steam. But there is no reason why a family couldn't enjoy themselves here.
Would I prefer to live here or in the Paphos region? My heart definitely belongs in Polemi, so we won't be upping sticks any time soon. But it's apples and oranges. Both regions are lovely, in their own way.
As you are still here, I may as well plug our affiliate tourism site: Mercury Holidays. They come highly recommended on our forum, and if you fancy a late break or an early booking for 2019, be sure to check them out.
Hope you enjoyed the postcard. We may well do a blog on the Sculpture Park, and there will definitely be a whole host of panoramas appearing on www.CyprusPanoramas.com, but for our next blog we will be returning to the Paphos region, our home.
