This is the Front Entrance of Ascos Hotel. The flags are flying, but there are only a couple of cars in the car park, so I doubt very much it is open currently.

There had been talk about it being "abandoned", and I love urban exploring. However, it was immediately clear that that was not in fact the case. I could see numerous bits of machinery indicating that some sort of activity was underway.

If you are unsure where this is, it is just south of Coral Bay Strip, near the Linear Park. I had been here before, when I was investigating a possible coast path from Kissonerga to the beaches here, so knew that I could get round to the rear of the hotel easily enough. I followed the road down the left hand side.

It certainly looks like they have been doing some decorating. These looked like old wall panels.

This was the big nail in the coffin of the Abandonment idea. There was some machinery here which was quite obviously working. I guess it is the Pool Pumping room, though I could be wrong. What I hadn't yet seen though, was any person.

The Hotel is being renovated and will re-open towards the end of May.
