Recent Pruning

In this shot you can see that somebody has been doing a bit of gardening recently, presumably during the week. I also spotted somebody else taking a shortcut through the grounds, so the area isn't quite the ghost-hotel I orginally thought.

Towards The Front

We made our way through the overgrown grass to the front side of the hotel.

Gardener Wanted

Somebody may be keeping the trees in check, but the lawn could certainly do with a mow.

It felt a bit surreal walking in this area. It reminded me of a very poor Horror Mini Series called The Langoliers I watched years ago. In that, some people found themselves slightly out of touch with everything else. They were passing through time a few seconds after the rest of reality, so they saw no people but could still see their imprint, so to speak. As ever, the book was a lot better, and the adaptation suffered from some terrible acting.

Walking around this hotel was a bit like that. Minus the acting.

A Look Inside

Looking through the window here, I could see that the inside was still intact. It hadn't been stripped out and there was still furniture in place.

Return to The Abandoned Ranch

The other day we saw an article about a mysterious church that had appeared in the Kouris Reservoir because of the low water level. When we got there it turned out to be a case of bad journalism. However, as we were in the area, we decided to revisit the abandoned Rancho Appaloosa, to see how much it had changed since we first found the place, in 2016.
