Aphrodite's Roadworks in 2025
The B6 runs from Paphos to Limassol, and used to be the main way of travelling between the two cities before the construction of the A6 motorway. The area between Aphrodite's Rock and Pissouri was closed in 2019 due to instability of the land. They finished phase 1 of the repairs and it re-opened for a time, but now it is closed again. The other day we visited the site to see how far Phase 2 had progressed.
Aphrodite's Coastline

This is the B6 between Aphrodite's Rock and Pissouri. It is an incredibly beautiful route, if a bit precarious. Hence the reason for the renovation work.
Phase 2

We filmed Phase 1 of the project back in 2022. You can view that film in the following link: Aphrodite's Roadworks - Phase 1. There was another film too, which featured a dancing Santa. I can't find the link to that though, which is probably a good thing.
Trenched In

I have to admit I had hoped that there would only be one phase. It was closed for a long time, and the road is a lovely route. But in July last year I did another film showing that there was a new phase in progress. Well since I recorded that, they have obviously been quite busy.

I should stress that this is a DIFFERENT section to the area repaired in Phase 1. I mention this because I saw online comments from people thinking that they were having to repair the recent renovation work (ie, Phase 1). This is not the case. This is a separate area.
They appear to be digging a fairly deep trench here.
Site Office

I filmed this on a Sunday, if you are wondering why nobody was about.

Aphrodites Rock B6 Road Repairs
In 2019 a section of the B6 road near Aphrodite's Rock was closed for repairs. Since then, in order to get to Pissouri, you need to take the motorway. We are happy to report that repair-work to the road is well underway. We took our drone so we could film what challenges the workers were having to overcome.Good Pages To Visit
