The Sea Caves
Distant Yeronissos Island
From the other side of the car park it gets a lot more interesting. You can see Yeronissos Island, which is to the left of Agios Georgios Harbour. Before that, on the right you can see the new sprawl that is Cap St George.
There's an interesting arch down there. I shall get to it in a minute but there is so much to see up here.
Pointing Fingers
Take these two rock formations. They look like two pointing fingers. Or, if you are of a certain age and read lots of interesting books as a child, they look like a couple of Hattifatteners.
That Rock Again
Walking beyond the two protruberances, I found another view of that well-balanced rock.
Sun Bathers
I hadn't noticed before but there were a couple of sunbathers on the rock in front of the archway. Well, they were wrapped-up warm, so probably weren't trying for a tan. But they were certainly taking it easy, and fair play to them. They picked a lovely spot.
Now, to get to those rocks, you are best served retracing your steps and following the footpath along the top of the ridge. You can take a more direct route but it involves doing a bit of climbing,
Rocky Vistas
There are a series of ridges that run through Sea Caves. Presumably the rocks here are prone to erosion, which explains the caves the area is famous for. It makes navigating the slopes fairly easy, as you are effectively following dried up streams.

Agios Georgios Harbour
Given that Cyprus is an island, there are surprisingly few harbours on its coastline. One such can be found at Agios Georgios, on the edge of the Akamas. And as well as the harbour, there are also some ancient caves and an Archaeological Park, so it is well worth a visit, as you shall see...Is this the Oldest Olive Tree in Cyprus?
We were out exploring in the Akamas the other day, and we came across this lovely old Olive Tree. I can't help wondering how long it has stood here...Good Pages To Visit
