Postcard From Ayia Napa
Outside

Outside the Cultural Centre was some nice artwork. We are launching two new websites soon. One of them, www.CyprusPanoramas.com should be live as you read this. That is a business site which also shows off Cyprus in 360° panoramas. The other is more a fun site, designed to show off all the Street Art and Craftwork we have found on our travels in Cyprus. Consequently, this blog will be a bit heavy on the art and mural front, as I was gathering material for the new site.

Reality Bites

The Occupying Forces weren't far away. Let's all pray for a peaceful solution in the near future.
Kleftiko

This was a great advert for the tavern below. Presumably they specialised in Kleftiko.
EOKA Monument

When the craft site is done you will be able to see a 360° panorama of this scene, including the statue behind me. It will be a few weeks yet though. These things take time!
Water Pumps

I was amazed how many of these there were in the area. They were all over the place. I believe they are windmills which are used to pump water. They reminded me of the old westerns I used to watch as a child.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
