Three-hour strike at Paphos Hospital’s Emergency Department begins at 9:00 on Thursday

A three-hour work stoppage at Paphos General Hospital’s Emergency Department begins at 9:00 on Thursday in protest against a prevailing under-staffing.

However, only Pasyki union doctors will be on strike till noon and this means disruption should be minimized, according to state radio.

A Pasyki union statement on Wednesday said: “Instead of finding two doctors, we are now looking for at least three, with the state hospital organization insisting on an unsuccessful pattern of communication.”

It added: “This has unfortunately poisoned and eroded the foundations of public hospitals.”
