Strays rounded up in Paphos to boost image

In order to reduce the amount of rubbish seen on Paphos streets, the number of cleaning crews has increased, Head of Sanitary Services at the municipality Christos Christou said on Tuesday.

Working morning, noon and night, the crews aim to increase cleanliness and reduce rubbish, which has been attracting “the largest” number of dogs seen in recent years.

The goal, Christou stated, is to keep the city clean, especially because Paphos expects a high number of tourists in the coming months.

To prepare, crews are also repairing rubbish bins and sanitary facilities that have been destroyed by vandals.
