Paphos Beaches - SODAP and It's Little Sister

SODAP is a Wine Farmer's Cooperative formed to assist the grape growers throughout Cyprus. It stands for Synergatikos Organismos Diathesis Ambelourgikon Proionton. This translates as Cooperative Organization for the Disposal of Viticultural Products. So now you know.

Anyway, there used to be a brewery, in the middle of what is now the Hotel Strip. The land passed to the Municipality, and presumably had hotels built on it. Two areas become beaches, and are officially called Vrysoudia A and Vrysoudia B. Vrysoudia translates as "tap" meaning a bar in a brewery. So I can only assume that there used to be two bars here. They are now lovely sandy beaches, though a lot of people refer to the area as the SODAP Beach.

In this film, we walk the length of both beaches, to show you what to expect. We also introduce to you a rocky celebrity. And yes I know I call him Tim, but his hame is in fact SID. In my defense, it is still, fundamentally, a rock.
