A Drive Through Androlikou, Cyprus. April 2021

Androlikou is a little village on the north-eastern slopes of the hills that surround the Akamas. Lying just above Prodromi, Prior to the 1974 Turkish invasion it was a Turkish Cypriot village, and it took refugees from the neighbouring Neo Chorio during the intercommunal fights of the 50s and 60s.

Since the invasion it has been abandoned, though life does seem to be returning.

Below Androlikou is a big, working quarry, and some beautiful gorges. Above it lies the similarly abandoned village of Fasli. This route follows - in reverse - part of our second Cyprus Road Trip. If you like watching these films and want to try something similar yourself, they are well worth getting.
