Back in Hellenic and Roman times, there used to be a big quarry at what we now know as Agios Georgios, the village at the lower edge of the Akamas. This is why the church and the car park are on a cliff. Cape Drepanum is a necropolis formed from the quarry excavations. It consists of a network of tombs in the cliff walls. In this film I explore them and enjoy the view of the harbour below. For more information on the caves, visit the archaeological site on the other side of the main road. It only costs a few euros to get in, and there is a lot of information there.
