A Drive Through The Troodos Winter Wonderland From Platres To The Ski Slopes


This is a pleasant drive from Platres up to Troodos Square after the first real snowfalls of the year. So admire the scenery as I carefully avoid ice and try to keep my eyes on the road. From the Square I head up to Sun Valley Ski Resort to see what is happening on the slopes. If you are making the journey yourself, do it in a 4x4 or put chains on your tyres. Also, come early, and avoid the weekend if at all possible. Another cold snap is forecast for later in the week...

Cyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road. The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way. There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings. You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.

Walk From Edro III To Sea Caves

In the concluding part of our walk along the coast path from Coral Bay, I start at the Edro III Wreck. From here I follow a path of varying degrees of quality past assorted villas to a group of restaurants. Once I have found my way through their gardens I swiftly complete the final leg and reach the car park at the main Sea Caves area.
